“It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.” — Carl Sagan

“That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the task itself has become easier, but that our ability to perform it has improved.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” — George Bernard Shaw

“The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand” — Suzanne Collins, in Catching Fire.

  1. Interesting post. I have lingered on it for a while. I read each quote over and over.

I read each through the eyes of Rush Limbaugh, then Al Franken. I read each through the eyes of Jillian Michaels, then Marilyn Wann. I read through the eyes of George Zimmerman’s mother, then Trayvon Martin’s.

It was a mentally challenging exercise.
