Hm. Not sure if this is good or bad…

On the one hand, going a week without a walk isn’t something I’m thrilled with.  Being inconsistent with exercise is part of how I’ve screwed up my knees in the past.

On the other hand, it IS nice that when I finally went for a walk this evening (at 10pm, after work, hoping it would help me unwind) I didn’t have any problems with doing my usual walk.   Yay leg lifts & other strength training.  ;)

  1. You will not know how wonderfulit is to walk until you cannot. KEEP it up! I have arthritis in my spine, and about eveywhere else too and can just barely walk. Thank God I can still drive but it is very difficult to get from house to car. So keep walking everyone!

  2. Good for you re: the strength training! I recently discovered it, too and it has made a big difference in my mobility and ease of walking. My family has a genetic tendency towards weak knees (mom had both knees replaced at 60 yrs old) and I’ve had knee problems since I was a teen, regardless of how heavy or light I’ve been. No doctor ever told me that strength training can help me with this…they just told me to lose weight. I had to discover it myself through my own research, and it has been so helpful…My knees don’t hurt anymore, plus I like the feeling of being stronger and improved balance as well.
