Thankful Thursday

[a not-always-weekly exercise in gratitude]

1) Trees are blooming everywhere and my allergy meds are dealing with it.

2) The Sounders won their home season opener!

3) Continuing to exercise is having the desired affects — I survived a Costco jaunt last weekend and walked to a restaurant that serves wine today during lunch.

4) …and I haven’t injured myself through pushing myself too much.

5) Hugs and kisses from the man of the house.  Well, and more — but it’s not that kind of blog ;)

  1. unrelated to your thankful thursday, but a belated thankful thursday of my own…

since i’ve been ill and subsequently diagnosed with lupus, i have been lucky enough to have a team of medical personnel who are caring, supportive, and work well at keeping each other informed. i was told by two doctors yesterday that if i didn’t get treatment as quickly as i did, i would literally be on my deathbed.

so thank you, primarily to my primary care doctor, who instead of saying “you’re sick because you’re fat, lose weight,” said, “wow, there’s something very wrong here. let’s figure it out and treat it.”

my professors at school, which i’ve had to put on hold, have been incredibly concerned. one of them is bringing me homemade cookies after she gets home from work today.

i’m thankful for my husband and parents and sisters who have all gone out of their way to bring me to doctors’ appointments, make sure i’m fed, and make sure i stay sane.

my gratitude has been overwhelming (i’m crying as i type this), and i need to let it out before i explode.

and i’m not even better yet, but i am still so very grateful. :)

  2. Hey, I’m grateful I found your blog. I’m enjoying it. You have a lovely writing style and I love the whole fat acceptance without giving in to possibility of change vibe.

    I’ll keep reading…
