Today is the last day…

…the last day of the first year of this blog.  Part of me is surprised that I’m still blogging with no end in sight.  Part of me is surprised that so many of you are reading and commenting.

As a grin, here’s some of the more interesting search terms I’ve seen recently:

  • soda obesity — I didn’t know soda could be obese…
  • why is the biggest loser so popular — I really have no idea
  • superobesity — one of these days I want a supergirl costume
  • stationary bikes 400lbs — not just for football players!
  • ball desk chair — sitting on mine now
  • health at every size nutritionist — Hey, Fat Nutritionist, I think they’re looking for you … or Linda Bacon … or both … ;)

Then there’s the ones that are always in the top 10.  One (and its variations) keeps the few articles I’ve written about sex so popular: “fat women sex”

And, also in the top 10, are the ones that tell me I’m doing something right:

  • living 400 lbs
  • living 400lbs
  • living 400
  • living400lbs

Thank you, all of you, for reading!   ;)

  1. I, for one, am glad as hell that you started this blog! Happy Anniversary! And thank you for taking your journey through life in a semi-public way (I still don’t know your first name)! You need to know that your blog inspires me to just be me….and I’m grateful for that…and you!

  2. Happy blogiversary!

I love reading what you have to say here. I also think you’re helping a lot of other people understand that the number on the scale isn’t the sum of what a person is worth.

Here’s to many more of these days.

  3. Every morning when I come to work, I go to google, type in living 400lbs, because I know that if I put it in my favourites it will get blocked.

So! One of those people checking every day is me.

    Happy Blogoversary!

  4. congrats!

I too love looking at the amusing search terms that point people to my blog. So far my favorite is “Jesus was fat” lol!

    • Hee! I just got “what size jeans would a 400 lb person wear”. Because of course everyone who weighs a certain amount has the exact same dimensions as everyone else who weighs that amount.

  5. stationary bikes 400lbs

Were I searching for this term and finding your blog, I’d probably be pleased as punch! I did look into getting an exercise ball-chair for home use because of your blog, and I’m also thinking about one of those foot peddle bikes. (Not for use at the same time of course.)

Happy blog-a-versary, and thank you for inspiring me to exercise more!

    • You’re welcome. And you’re evil. My boss gets this worried look whenever she sees me balancing on the ball with my feet off the floor — now imagine if I had the pedaling thing too … ;)

  6. How’s the ball desk chair anyway? I’ve been considering getting one because I really hate computer desk chairs and really love bouncing on my exercise ball. Whee!!

    Happy Blogiversary!

  7. Happy blogiversary from me as well! I don’t think I’ve commented here much, but it’s high time I said this: your blog is a pleasure to read, and I’m grateful that you write it.

  8. Happy Anniversary! Yay!

When you announced your blog, i remember being “shocked and awed” – shocked because you announced your weight publicly and awed because it is such a brave thing to do.

You inspire me, another near 400lbder, to be brave.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    • You are welcome, and thank you :)

Most of the FA bloggers — like most fat people — are smaller than me or you. They may not be able to shop at Forever 21 but they can at Torrid, or Macy’s, or Avenue. I figured that’s where I could add a perspective that wasn’t already out there. :)

  9. Happy anniversary from one deathfattie to another!

You know we have to keep on showing the world we’re not bedridden welfare queens covered up to our eyeballs in Big Mac wrappers. :-D

  10. Happy Day. I check your blog quite frequently and have been moved by your candor and attitude. Because of you last week when a friend asked me to come along to her Kickboxing class. I did it. Yep, I was totally the fattest person in the room but so what! I had a great time and felt really terrific when it was done. Know that you are impacting lives with your words in a really positive way.
