Thankful Thursday

[an occasional exercise in gratitude]

1. The man of the house is no longer in the hospital with a 104F (40C) fever.  (That…was scary.)

2. My new job has better health insurance than we had previously. (I’d prefer a single-payer solution, but it’s what I’ve got.)

3. Hospice care is providing more monitoring for my father to help avoid surprises and ER visits — and they come to HIM, which is much better than ambulances.

4. My father is happy in the care home where he lives and is getting good care.

5. Supportive friends and chosen family, for helping me to stay sane.

I am so very happy for you. It sounds like things are going much better. All of what you have been going through is so stressful! Isn’t it wonderful when things go right for a change?
My husband was not well and insisted on going to work one day, and when I took his temperature his was 105*. He was adament that he was going to work! I called work and told them he was NOT coming and took him to the ER as fast as I could get him there. He still only stayed off work two days. Can’t men be frustrating?????
You are doing a great job. Keep it up!

  3. What did your husband have? I’m glad he is doing better now. Hugs.

Hospice was a huge blessing to us when my mother was dying. I’m glad you have it involved now.
